We had inherited an Eames Lounge chair that my parents had since the late 1960s. It was still solid, but as my folks got older, they didn't care for it as well as they should have and the cushions were badly worn. We'd briefly considered just taking it to a local upholstery shop to have it reupholstered, but realized that its classic background deserved more. The team at Hobbs did a great job restoring the cushions with leather as lush as the original and now it looks like new. My folks would have been pleased to see it in use. It's a beautiful piece of furniture once again!

I had lost my Plycraft Mr. Chair to Hurricane Ida and was searching the Internet for a replacement when I came upon Hobbs Modern's website and spotted this beauty. I spoke with Nicole on the phone for nearly a half an hour about the chair and its designer George Mulhauser and she really knew her stuff. Delivery was surprisingly fast. And the restoration job is just breathtaking. It looks like it just rolled off the 1960 assembly line. Quite the time capsule. I couldn't be happier.

NEW This is by far the best customer experience I’ve ever had with a company, the owner facetimed me to show me the chair before I even put down money! I then wanted a very specific kind of fabric and she was able to work with me and the reupholstering company and make it affordable for me to be able to get the kind that I wanted, and it turned out incredible. The quality of work is stunning the wood is refinished back to what it would’ve looked like in the 60s. Customer service was incredibly quick, they are patient with customer indecisiveness (lol) and worth the investment. I’m only twenty-three, so this big purchase was able to be broken into manageable payments. Even the shipping company they used was kind and professional and delivered the piece right to my home, with pictures for quality assurance. I would absolutely buy from them again as soon as possible!!!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a long time because this is the second time we purchase from Hobbs Modern. The first time we got a table (on the picture) and we still love it as much as we did the first day, which was 3 years ago! Nicole and Ryan are very knowledgeable and are the nicest couple to do business with. It’s easy to trust you are getting good quality products, especially when it comes to vintage, designer furniture. When we received these amazing set of Teak Arne Vodder Dining Chairs, we could see how much they truly care about where the pieces will live on the new life they gave it. I ordered a piece of Paul McCobb from Hobbs Modern on a whim. I had been wanting this piece for quite some time and couldn't find it locally. I was nervous about buying something in California that was to come to me in Georgia. However, I had absolutely no reason to worry. The case piece was exactly as advertised and Hobbs Modern kept me informed about moving it post purchase from them to me. Everything was done very professionally and I would buy from them again in a heartbeat!

If you’re in the market for an Eames Lounge Chair, look no further! My wife and I recently purchased a house and began searching for pieces to fill up the space. I knew I wanted an Eames chair very early on, however I didn’t even think about going vintage restored. I stumbled upon Hobbs Modern’s page on Instagram by chance looking at another set of Selig Z chairs. I gave them a follow and a few weeks later saw that they were planning to restore a first gen Eames Lounge Chair. I knew we had to jump at the chance to own an icon. We reached out to Nicole and Ryan to put a hold on the chair to start the process. With shelter in place just starting, Nicole and Ryan were very clear on every step of the process and that timelines may need to be extended. We were not in a rush, and understood that you can’t expect quick turnaround with how things are in 2020. They kept us informed about each update and were sure to send progress pictures when possible. When we took delivery, we knew we made the right choice. The chair is beyond expectation and the attention to detail during the restoration is top notch. The refinished rosewood, new shock mounts, and polished bases, along with the original patina on the leather make for a perfect piece in our home. We always receive complements on the chair, and we’re proud to tell everyone we had it restored by Hobbs Modern!!

I had been wanting a vintage Eames Rosewood Lounge Chair and Ottoman for years and found it difficult to find the right one. We bought a cute glass cabinet and used it as a bar cabinet. We arranged a facetime appt to view the cabinet since we didn't want to drive to SD (& bc of covid), and next thing you know we were getting it delivered to our house. It's beautiful in our home! Unfortunately due to the pandemic we've had no visitors yet but we can't wait to show it off.
