Leather daybed by Bruno Mathsson for Firma Karl Mathsson. The daybed originally debuted at the International Exhibition in Berlin in 1957. The frame is made of birch plywood and features a bentwood frame that curves slightly up at the headrest and split-legs has the original leather and is in good vintage condition. Pictures (to come next week) show some vintage wear on the leather. We can reupholster for you but we think the color and the patina is wonderful. The daybed was originally debuted at the International Exhibition in Berlin in 1957.
Bruno Mathsson was a leading furniture designer and architect in the modern Scandinavian design movement that combined functionalism with craft traditions.
