A true icon of modern design, this authentic 42" Tulip dining table was designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll as part of his revolutionary Pedestal Collection.
Saarinen famously set out to solve what he called the “ugly, confusing, unrestful world” created by traditional tables and chairs — a “sea of legs.” His solution was radical and elegant: a single sculptural pedestal base that brings clarity, openness, and visual calm to a room. More than seventy years later, the design remains as fresh and architectural as ever.
This example features a beautifully grained walnut top with warm, rich tonality, paired with its original white lacquered cast-aluminum base. It retains its original vintage Knoll label, confirming its authenticity and period production.
At 42 inches in diameter, this table is exceptionally versatile — large enough to comfortably seat 4 to 6 people, yet compact enough to work perfectly in a dining room, apartment, or cozy breakfast nook.
Timeless, sculptural, and endlessly functional, the Saarinen Tulip table is one of the most important dining designs of the 20th century and a cornerstone of any serious Mid-Century Modern interior.
