A beautifully proportioned vintage teak desk designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen, combining generous workspace with the sculptural refinement associated with the finest Danish modern furniture. The expansive rectangular top provides an impressive writing and working surface, making the desk equally suited to a sophisticated home office, executive workspace, library, or design studio.

Two suspended drawer cabinets provide ample storage while preserving an open, architectural silhouette. The drawer fronts are crafted from solid teak and feature deeply sculpted, integrated pulls that create a rhythmic horizontal pattern across the front. The drawers appear to float beneath the desktop, framed by slender tapered legs and softly rounded structural elements.

Kofod-Larsen’s attention to detail is evident from every angle. The shaped apron, subtly elevated desktop, warm teak grain, and beautifully resolved joinery give the desk a lightness that belies its substantial scale. The rear and side panels are also thoughtfully finished, allowing the desk to be placed freely within a room rather than positioned exclusively against a wall.

Professionally restored by Hobbs Modern, the teak has been carefully refinished to reveal its rich color, natural grain, and warm luster while preserving the character of the original vintage construction.

      Why We Love It

This is more than a functional writing desk—it is a piece of Danish modern sculpture. The combination of a remarkably large work surface, substantial storage, solid teak drawer fronts, and a fully finished exterior makes it both practical and visually striking. Its elegant profile allows it to serve as the centerpiece of an executive office or to float beautifully within an open interior.
