    • Yasha Heifetz Rotaflex Pendant Light – Made in USA, c. 1950s

A striking example of postwar lighting design, this sculptural pendant light was created by Yasha Heifetz for The Heifetz Company in the 1950s. At its core is the groundbreaking Rotaflex shade: a lightweight & flexible plastic material originally developed in France and celebrated for its ability to be formed into elegant, modern silhouettes.

Each piece features a ribbed cylindrical Rotaflex diffuser that softly filters light, casting a warm and atmospheric glow. It’s topped with a coned wood neck and suspended from a minimal plastic canopy, giving the lamp a clean, modern profile with a natural accent. The combination of organic materials and innovative plastics reflects Heifetz’s commitment to both craftsmanship and experimentation.

A rare and collectible light, this pendant captures the spirit of 1950s American modernism while embracing the technological optimism of the era. Professionally restored and rewired, it’s ready for installation in any contemporary interior.

Ideal over a dining table, in an entryway, or as a sculptural statement in a living space, this is a museum-worthy piece for collectors of mid-century design and vintage lighting.
